As a qualified practioner, here are a selection of the practices and treatments that I use to help my clients make the changes that they want to see in their lives...

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy aims to reprogramme patterns of behaviour within the mind, helping with irrational fears, phobias, suppressed emotions and negative thoughts that need overcoming. In therapy, hypnosis usually involves the person experiencing a sense of deep relaxation with their attention narrowed down and focused on appropriate suggestions made by the therapist.

 

Contrary to what most people believe, hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep but more a trance-like condition and whilst experiencing this, the patient is actually in an enhanced state of awareness, concentrating on nothing other than the hypnotists' voice.  In this state, it is easier to access the subconscious mind.

 

In a hypnotherapy session you are always in control, it is not about being made to do things you would not normally do, the patient cannot do anything they would find morally wrong.  In fact it is the opposite, it is about empowerment! Patients remain fully aware of their surroundings and the situation they are in, and are not vulnerable to the suggestions given by the hypnotherapist.

 

The subconscious mind is more powerful than the conscious mind, this is the part which has to change for the clients' behaviour and physical state to alter. For example, a client who consciously wants to overcome their fear of flying may try everything they consciously can to do it, but will still fail as long as their subconscious mind retains all the terror and prevents the client from succeeding.  Progress can only be made by reprogramming the subconscious so that all those deep installed beliefs are abolished or changed.

 

 

 

Life Coaching

Life coaches use effective techniques to help their clients in all aspects of life. A life coach is someone who aims to help and empower others to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals – this could include; becoming happy and fulfilled in the home or workplace, excelling in your job, exploring yourself and the world and achieving your ambitions.

 

A life coach will approach things pragmatically, they will never try to be a counsellor, they will never attempt to give out advice because, giving advice is their personal view of the world and they would be pushing their beliefs onto you and you may not share the same view. Through questions and exercises they will try to get a good idea of how you look at the world.  From this they will be able to identify the most effective route to your goal.

 

Life coaching focuses mainly on the future to encourage personal-development and self-improvement.  The skills are about knowing the right questions to ask and using the right tools and techniques to empower you to find those answers within yourself.

It’s not about the problems in your past, it’s all about your future.

NLP

NLP is Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It is a bit like an 'owners manual' on how to use your brain!  

 

  • Neuro refers to how the mind and body interact

  • Linguistic refers to the insights into a person’s thinking that can be obtained by careful attention to their use of language
